The Irish ERYICA Quality Label Awards took place recently in the Ballykisteen Hotel, in Tipperary. The event promoted the quality work youth information services around Ireland and Europe do to uphold the right of young people to full and reliable information which in turn helps them make the choices they face in their lives. Providing factual and quality information to young people promotes their autonomy, ability to think critically, and active participation in society.

As the an independent organisation composed of national and regional information bodies and networks ERYICA’s role is to foster European co-operation in the field of youth information work and services and to develop, support and promote quality generalist youth information policy and practice at all levels. ERYICA also work to ensure that the information needs of young people and the principles of the European Youth Information Charter are respected.

The quality label is a tool to helps us all be assured of the quality of our youth information services but also it assures young people that the information they receive is accurate, independent, factual and reliable.
