Youth Diversion Projects
Youth Diversion Projects that are members of Youth Work Ireland are co-funded by the Irish Government and the European Social Fund as part of the ESF Programme for Employability, Inclusion and learning. (PEIL)2014-2020.’
Youth Diversion Projects serve young people who are at risk of getting into trouble with the law. The projects are designed to help young people develop their sense of community and their social skills through different activities. Young People are offered opportunities in education, employment training, sport, art, and music.
Approximately 2000 young people access the 100 Youth Diversion Projects annually. The projects promote good relations in local community and more importantly help young people to redefine themselves and their life goals in a positive way that directs them away from anti-social behaviour and towards positive life choices.
