Donegal Youth Service launch Youth Club Handbook

Donegal Youth Service launch Youth Club Handbook

Donegal Youth Service have launched a new Youth Club Handbook at the recent AGM and Volunteer Forum. This handbook contains a vital guide to our youth clubs across the County as it ensures all necessary information is contained in one clearly laid out handbook.

Donegal Youth Service works with 29 youth clubs across the county of Donegal; supported by over 300 adult volunteers and over 11,400 young people engaging annually. We at DYS are ever grateful for the band of volunteers who operate their own youth clubs, catering for their own young people’s needs with the support of the ASPIRE Donegal project. We want all children and young people to be safe, secure and thriving and we do our very best to ensure this happens.

Speaking at the launch, Charlene Logue, Youth Outreach Manager states; We are always seeking new or returning volunteers to help support local youth clubs and services. “There is a solid induction and training programme on offer to volunteers and all training is provided free of charge, as is our Garda Vetting application process”.

DYS constantly seek additional funding to be able to add to our programme of activities & events on offer in local youth clubs and we strive to have Youth Work and Rural Youth Work in particular being properly valued, funded and mainstreamed by the Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Inclusion & Youth (DCEDIY).  All our programmes and activities are provided to young people free of charge. (Youth clubs may charge a registration/membership fee to cover operating costs/insurance/rent etc).
