Youth Work Ireland and ISSU Launch ‘Be Well’ Workbook to Support Student Wellbeing
Youth Work Ireland, in partnership with the Irish Second-Level Students’ Union (ISSU), is proud to announce the launch of the Be Well Workbook — a practical and empowering new resource created to support the mental health and wellbeing of young people across Ireland. This initiative is made possible with the generous support of the RTÉ Toy Show Appeal.
The Be Well Workbook is designed as a simple yet powerful guide to help students manage stress, worry, and anxiety — especially during high-pressure times like exam season. Rooted in the successful Be Well programme, which has already reached thousands of second-level students nationwide, the workbook is built to help young people thrive both in and out of the classroom.
Inside the workbook, students will find clear and practical tips on how to optimise their performance and maintain a steady state of wellbeing. With a strong emphasis on rest, nutrition, time management, and physical activity, the guide introduces young people to the “NEST” framework — an easy-to-remember acronym that focuses on Nutrition, Exercise, Sleep, and Time Management. These four pillars are key to building and sustaining the resilience needed for academic success and everyday life.
Whether facing exams, feeling overwhelmed, or just looking to improve daily wellness, the Be Well Workbook is here to provide meaningful support and guidance to young people across the country.
This collaboration reflects a shared commitment between Youth Work Ireland and ISSU to not only highlight the importance of youth mental health, but to equip young people with the tools they need to navigate stress and pressure with confidence and care.
