Positive Sexual Health Learning & Sharing Workshops

In April 2019 we ran 2 Learning & Sharing workshops with young people in Dublin and Limerick. These events brought together over 150 young people and youth workers to learn more about consent, staying safe and wellbeing. The Dublin event took place in Youth Work Ireland's national office on Tuesday April 16th and the Limerick event took place in the Northside Youth Space, Ballynanty, hosted by Limerick Youth Service.

The events provided a space and opportunity for people to join in the discussions on sexual health, offer their views and opinions, and have their voices heard. The events were led by young people from the Sex Talk Team who provided a youth led and youth focus to the events. Youth worker Caroline Stott Clare Youth Service led the youth workers in a session to help identify the key issues which will be incorporated into a European resource for youth workers to help educate young people on issues around sexual health.

  • Had their voices heard on how sex education should be taught in Ireland.
  • Had a chance to take part in a media campaige to educate decision makers on the needs of young people in relation to sex education and health.
