On Saturday November 23rd Youth Work Ireland along with local member service Youth Work Ireland Louth and the YNP partnership hosted the Youth Network for Peace Convention in the Carnbeg Hotel in Dundalk with over a hundred young people and youth leaders attending from across the entire island of Ireland. The convention involved workshops around the networks radio station Radio YNP teaching young people how to produce radio as well as workshops around YouthBank, advice on running a youth lead campaign and a voices for impact workshop.
The convention also saw a performance by Irish Youth Music Awards act RY and great discussions around peace building for young people with lots of energy. Radio YNP broadcasted live from the event with our Coca-Cola Youth Empowered zone supporting young people learn skills around employment and interview techniques throughout the day.
This project is a cross border project supported by the European Union’s Peace IV project and managed by the Special EU Programmes body (SEUPB). The project involves thirteen partners from north and south of the island of Ireland including Youth Work Ireland Louth, Youth Action Northern Ireland as lead partner, Youth Work Ireland, Northern Ireland Youth forum, CoOperation Ireland and many more.
