Over 750 people attend our Pride Breakfast in National Office
On Saturday June 25th, the Dublin Pride Parade returned to the streets of Dublin after a 2 year absence due to Covid.
Youth Work Ireland and our partners Belong To welcomed over 750 young LGBTQ+ people, allies, youth workers and volunteers to National Office for a morning of fun, festivities and a celebratory breakfast.
Together we marched as the biggest youth contingence in Dublin Pride under the banners ‘Empowering LGBTQ+ Youth’
The event is a milestone in our calendar or work and creates a safe space for LGBTQ+ youth to come together and prepare for the event. DJ Glamo, the Sonna Samba band and artist Keely ensured that the morning was filled with music, fun and art.

said: “Youth Work Ireland’s
Member Youth Services’ LGBTQ+ youth groups will congregate tomorrow in our
National Office along with our friends from Belong To to celebrate Pride. This
is a hugely special day in our calendar and a moment of great joy, liberation,
and pride for the young people we work with. Each year Pride give us an
opportunity as a society to celebrate how far we have come in terms of
inclusion, but it also provides us with a moment to reflect on the road we have
yet to travel. We call on all those who walk in the Pride parade,
especially our political leaders and policy-makers, to make sure that every
step they take will remind them of their obligations to do more in terms of
fully implementing the LGBTI+ National Youth Strategy.”
