Evidence in Youth Work

This symposium provided an opportunity for participants to discuss and hear from expert practitioners on this issue. The day also provided an opportunity for participants to interact with the Working Group on Evidence in Youth Work and discuss their views on the challenges and opportunities in sharing, capturing and using our evidence as practitioners.

Anne discussed her contribution, “Young people’s involvement in generating evidence – The Health Behaviour in School – Aged Children Study”.

 

Mary Lynch, Foróige, Big Brother Big Sister

Mary gave a practitioner’s perspective on the impact of research evidence in the development of the BBBS mentoring programme in Ireland.

 

 

Brian McManus, Clare Youth Service and Gareth Gibson Donegal Youth Service

Brian and Gareth discussed their contribution, “Using evidence from needs assessment to plan service development”.

 

Working Group on Evidence in Youth Work, the working group discussed how best to capture and share our youth work practice wisdom.
