CDYS came into being following a loose affiliation of youth clubs in the diocese of Cloyne from 1962. When the National Federation of Youth Clubs (now known as Youth Work Ireland) was established in 1973 with a new constitution, CDYS was firmly on the map and active at a national level. Since our establishment as a limited company in 2005, CDYS Youth Work Ireland has continued to grow and develop significantly in the provision of youth and community services in county Cork. With the regional office based in the Mallow Community Youth Centre, CDYS continues to provide a range of established services and supports for young people. We have also pioneered services such as counseling services, Aspergers youth and family support and a range of therapeutic supports, training and intervention.
CDYS Youth Work Ireland works with 3,000 young people, 300 volunteers, 22 staff, 22 youth clubs across the county, 9 youth projects, 5 youth bases making us the leading provider of youth services in Cork County. With established youth services in Mallow, Midleton, Macroom, Fermoy and Cobh, CDYS also develops and supports a range of community initiatives, youth clubs and youth services throughout Cork County.
CDYS Youth Work Ireland is committed to providing a range of services that positively value and nurture young people.
