Events 2015

Youth Work Ireland Week is the largest celebration of young people and youth services in Ireland and will see thousands of young people, youth workers and volunteers taking part in local and national events to celebrate, have fun and highlight what communities and young people can do in partnership to build a better Ireland. This year’s theme as voted on by young people, volunteers and staff at our 2014 National Conference is Young People Participating in Decision Making.

Hear Us Now - Amplifying the Voice of Young People

Youth Work Ireland Week, now in its 4th year, will run from April 18th - April 25th, the theme this year is Youth Participation as voted on by young people, volunteers and youth workers at the Youth Work Ireland National Consensus Conference in Oc-tober 2014.

Our themed activity this year is Hear Us Now, aims at providing a space for young people to express their views and opinions on what matters to them in Ireland to-day. All youth clubs and projects affiliated to Youth Work Ireland can take part in this activity which involves youth workers and volunteers guiding young people through a simply activity to decidie on a message they want our politicans and deci-sion-makers to hear. This activity pack will be sent out to Members in February.

All megaphone messages created in Hear Us Now will be brought before an audience of decision makers, TDs and Senators at the Youth Work Ireland Political Briefing on April 22nd. This a real chance for the young people to have their voices heard at a national level and for Youth Work Ireland as a Federation to share and promote our model of youth participation.

The Hear Us Now Activity Pack can be downloaded below, for more on where to get the megaphones information contact Gina
