Awards

Awarding Results

Following a thorough examination of all the evidence presented, the peer assessment team and co-ordinator will make a decision on whether each individual standard has been met or not met. This process will create a picture of the organisation that will determine the overall outcome reached. There are three potential award types:

Award Recommended will be determined when the peer assessment team are agreed that:

  • all standards have been met

or

  • all Red standards (see ‘Grading of Standards’ below) are met,
  • less than 5 Amber or Green standards are unmet
  • the unmet standards are spread across the 4 Tranches, and
  • the unmet standards can be addressed within a 3 month period.

Award Recommended (Pending) will be determined when the peer assessment team are agreed that:

  • at least 30 of the 37 standards (including all Red standards) have been met,
  • any remaining unmet standards are spread across the 4 Tranches, and
  • the remaining unmet standards can be addressed within a 4 – 6 month timeframe.

(In such cases a representative of the peer assessment team will return to the youth service, at an agreed time within 6 months of the peer assessment, to review evidence and establish that sufficient outstanding standards have been addressed. This being the case, the (Pending) will be removed and the outcome will revert to Award Recommended.)

Award Not Recommended will be determined when peer assessment team are agreed that:

  • any of the Red standards are unmet, or
  • more than 7 standards are unmet, or
  • more than 3 unmet standards are found in any one Tranche, or
  • any of the unmet standards cannot be addressed within a 6 month period.

(In such cases the youth service will have to re-apply for peer assessment having addressed any outstanding actions identified by the peer assessment team)
